Job summary

In4Matic is seeking an experienced Data Governance Specialist to strengthen how data is managed, structured and leveraged across the organization in Brussels. You will embed governance practices, improve data quality and support data owners and stewards in a mature data-driven culture.

You will lead the data catalog and glossary efforts, ensure metadata accuracy, and drive data quality initiatives while aligning with GDPR requirements and business goals.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Data, IT, Economics, Business or an equivalent field.
• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience in data governance, data quality, BI or data management.
• Hands-on experience implementing and managing data governance practices within a large organization.
• Experience with data catalog implementation and management.
• Solid understanding of data governance, data quality management, metadata management, business glossary management and MDM.
• Working knowledge of SQL and data governance tools.
• Practical experience with data quality tools.
• Knowledge of Databricks is considered an asset.
• Good understanding of GDPR and its implications for data management.
• Experience in change management and project management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and coordinate data quality improvement initiatives, including defining rules, setting priorities, monitoring results and reporting progress.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance policies, standards and guidelines.
• Support data literacy initiatives by identifying relevant training opportunities and monitoring their implementation.

• Proven hands‑on experience implementing and managing data governance practices within a large organization.
• Practical experience with data catalog implementation and management.
• Solid understanding of data governance, data quality management, metadata management, business glossary management and Master Data Management (MDM).
• Working knowledge of SQL and data governance tools.
• Practical experience with data quality tools.
• Knowledge of Databricks is considered an asset.
• Good understanding of GDPR and its implications for data management.
• Experience in change management and project management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• An autonomous, proactive and motivated professional who can take initiative and work effectively with different stakeholders.
