Jobtailor is seeking a senior Data Governance Lead in Brussels to define and drive a pragmatic governance framework across data assets. You will ensure compliance, map data flows, set policies, and define access controls in collaboration with IT and business stakeholders.

The role requires strong leadership, communication, and change management skills, with experience in regulated environments and familiarity with DAMA-DMBOK. English proficiency plus Dutch or French is expected.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Data Governance and Data Quality.
• Strong understanding of Data Management methodologies and technologies.
• Able to collaborate with Data, IT and business teams.
• Experience in regulated environments is a plus (finance, healthcare, public sector).
• Knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK framework.

Responsabilités

• Define, implement and maintain a pragmatic data governance framework.
• Support compliance requirements related to management and protection of critical data.
• Inventory, map and classify critical data, including flows and dependencies.
• Define data governance policies, standards and procedures.
• Define protection requirements for critical data according to classification level.
• Define and support implementation of data access rules based on business needs and least privilege.
• Define governance roles, responsibilities and processes.
• Support data quality, metadata management, MDM, data lineage and data modelling practices.
• Contribute to selection, deployment and adoption of data governance tools.
• Integrate governance principles into business initiatives and data initiatives.
• Raise awareness and adoption of data management and protection.
• Ensure governance measures for critical data are implemented and applied.
• Support control and review of access to critical data.
• Collaborate with Data, IT and business stakeholders.
• Support security, backup and restoration measures for critical data.
• Maintain data governance documentation, standards and processes.
• Train stakeholders on best practices and changes in data governance.
• Align internal stakeholders around data governance initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of significant experience in Data Governance and Data Quality
• Strong understanding of Data Management methodologies and technologies
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Data Management, IT and business teams
• Experience in regulated environments such as finance, healthcare or the public sector is considered an asset
• Expertise in Data Governance, Data Management and Data Quality
• DAMA-DMBOK or equivalent
• Critical Data identification, classification and mapping
• Data flows and dependencies
• Metadata Management
• Master Data Management (MDM)
• Data Lineage
• Data Modelling
• Data Governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica or OvalEdge
• Documentation and presentation
• Roadmap definition and implementation
