Job summary

In4Matic is seeking an experienced Data Functional Analyst to bridge business needs and technical teams within a multidisciplinary data group in Belgium. You will shape data solutions, ensure governance and GDPR compliance, and collaborate across engineering, governance and ICT to deliver robust data products.

The role requires strong Kimball modelling experience, 5+ years in data analysis, and fluency in French and Dutch.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in data functional analysis.
• Experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS and Power BI.
• Fluent in French and Dutch (minimum B2+).

Responsibilities

Function

We’re looking for an experienced Data Functional Analyst to join our client’s multidisciplinary data team and play a key role in transforming business needs into robust data solutions. You’ll work alongside data engineers, architects, reporting specialists, data quality experts, project managers and AI specialists, acting as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams in a dynamic, data-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Engage with business Subject Matter Experts to understand, challenge and clarify their data needs.
• Analyze business processes as well as operational and analytical data flows, including incoming and outgoing data.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional, data and technical requirements.
• Design and validate data models in close collaboration with Data Architects, with a strong focus on data warehouse modelling using the Kimball approach.
• Define functional designs together with Data Governance, BI Technical Leads and ICT teams.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure GDPR, data security and compliance requirements are incorporated.
• Support and coordinate the testing of newly developed data products.
• Help business users understand, adopt and effectively use new data solutions through communication and training.

Profile & Technical Skills

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in data functional analysis.
• Solid hands‑on experience with data warehouse modelling, preferably using the Kimball methodology.
• Strong experience designing and analyzing data flows.
• At least 3 years of experience with the Microsoft on‑premise data stack, including SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS and Power BI.
• Previous experience as a Data Engineer is a strong plus.
• Experience with Azure Databricks is an advantage.
• Strong conceptual thinking, business understanding and data literacy, with the ability to turn complex business requirements into pragmatic technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with professional proficiency in both French and Dutch (minimum B2+).
• A proactive, autonomous and ownership-driven mindset, combined with strong problem-solving skills and a clear focus on delivery.
• Collaborative, resilient, flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with a genuine curiosity and willingness to learn.
