Job summary

EngiFlex BV in Belgium is seeking an experienced data functional analyst to join a multidisciplinary agile data team. You will translate business needs into functional and technical specifications, and define conceptual and logical data models in partnership with data architects.

The role requires strong SQL, data warehouse modelling (Kimball), and hands-on experience with SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI, and Azure Databricks.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in data functional analysis.
• Hands-on experience with data warehouse modelling (Kimball).
• Strong data modelling and data flows design skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft on-premise stack: SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, Power BI.
• Excellent written and spoken communication in French and Dutch (B2+).

Tasks and responsibilities

You will join a multidisciplinary agile data team made up of data engineers, reporting specialists, data functional analysts, project managers, data architects, data quality experts and AI specialists.

• Facilitate discussions with business subject matter experts to capture data-related needs.
• Map, analyse and understand business processes and operational and analytical data flows, both incoming and outgoing.
• Convert business requirements into functional data requirements and technical specifications.
• Design and validate conceptual and logical data models together with data architects.
• Prepare the functional design of data developments in close collaboration with data governance, BI technical leads and ICT teams.
• Work with the Data Protection Officer to ensure GDPR and security compliance.
• Support and coordinate testing of delivered data products.
• Inform and guide business users, and help drive adoption of the delivered solutions.

Your profile

• Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in data functional analysis.
• Hands-on experience with data warehouse modelling, including the Kimball approach.
• Proven experience in data modelling and in analysing and designing data flows.
• At least 3 years of practical experience with the Microsoft on-premise stack: SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS and Power BI.
• Solid SQL skills.
• Previous experience as a data engineer is an asset.
• Experience with Azure Databricks is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Professional command of both national languages, French and Dutch, at minimum B2+ level.
• Strong presentation skills.
