Job summary

Sia is seeking a Data Engineer Consultant to join our growing Data Science team in Antwerp. You will work on client projects and our own AI solutions, focusing on data pipelines, cloud services, and DevOps practices.

You bring 1–3 years of experience in data, DevOps, cloud or software engineering, strong Python and SQL foundations, and excellent English, Dutch and French communication skills. This is a full-time on-site role in Belgium.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with a strong quantitative component
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in Data, DevOps, Cloud or Software Engineering
• Strong Python and SQL foundations; familiarity with at least one SQL DBMS (PostgreSQL) and ideally noSQL (MongoDB)
• Experience with one cloud services platform (GCP, AWS, Azure) or strong willingness to learn
• Comfort with Docker, CI/CD pipelines and Kubernetes willingness
• DevOps mindset with code lifecycle ownership and Gitlab-CE knowledge
• Security-focused with experience in HTTPS, OAuth2, credential management
• Strong interest in data and AI topics and ability to learn quickly
• Excellent interpersonal and team working skills
• Fluent in English, Dutch and French

Responsibilities

• Work on client projects as a Data Engineer Consultant
• Build and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes in Big Data environments
• Develop server-side tools with Python for data processing and APIs
• Support CI/CD and deployment of Data Science projects at client sites
• Create and optimize cloud-based architectures across GCP, AWS and Azure
• Collaborate with data science teams and internal French Data Engineering team
• Ensure security and governance practices across data platforms
