Astek Belgium is seeking a Data Engineer – AI & LLM to join its Data & AI Community. You will work on innovative data and AI projects, building scalable data platforms and solutions based on Large Language Models and Generative AI.

You will ensure data quality, collaborate with AI/DS teams, and contribute to MLOps practices across client engagements. You will work in a dynamic, international tech group with continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and career development opportunities in Data

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer with an interest in AI/LLMs.
• Strong Python and SQL programming skills.
• Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and processing solutions.
• Knowledge of cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, GCP.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and processing workflows.
• Prepare, transform, and structure data to support AI/ML use cases.
• Work on LLM-based solutions including embeddings and RAG architectures.
• Integrate and manage data from multiple sources.
• Develop and optimize data processing using cloud technologies.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and stakeholders to ensure data quality and reliability.
• Contribute to best practices in Data Engineering, AI, and MLOps.

Job Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer – AI & LLM to join Astek and become part of our Data & AI Community.

You will work on innovative data and artificial intelligence projects for our clients, helping them build scalable data platforms and develop solutions based on Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI technologies.

You will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of data pipelines, ensuring that high-quality and reliable data is available to support AI-driven solutions.

Within the Data & AI Community, you will collaborate with technical experts, share knowledge, and contribute to the growth of our AI capabilities.

Your Challenges Will Be

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data processing workflows.
• Prepare, transform, and structure data to support AI and Machine Learning use cases.
• Work on LLM-based solutions, including data preparation, embeddings, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Integrate and manage data from multiple sources.
• Develop and optimize data processing solutions using cloud-based technologies.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, Software Developers, and business stakeholders.Ensure data quality, security, and reliability across projects.
• Contribute to the implementation of best practices in Data Engineering, AI, and MLOps.

Profile

Skills

Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a strong interest in AI and Large Language Models. Strong programming skills in Python and SQL. Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and data processing solutions. Knowledge of cloud environments such as:

• Microsoft Azure
• AWS
• Google Cloud PlatformExperience with data engineering tools such as:
• Apache Spark
• Databricks
• Airflow
• Data warehouses / Data lakesFamiliarity with AI/LLM concepts is a strong asset:
• LLMs
• RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation)
• Embeddings
• Vector databases
• Prompt engineeringExperience working in Agile environments.
• Analytical mindset, problem-solving skills, and a passion for innovation.

English is required.

Dutch or French is mandatory (professional working level required, as projects are based in Belgium).
