Nexeo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer / Technical Lead for a strategic Data & Analytics program in Belgium. You will guide data engineers, ensure architectural alignment and drive enterprise data solutions in the Azure ecosystem.

Lead the development of pipelines, coach junior engineers, and collaborate with Data Platform Architects to evolve the data platform while promoting engineering best practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience as Senior Data Engineer, Technical Lead or Data Platform Engineer.
• Strong leadership and coaching capabilities.
• Ability to guide technical decisions and support multiple teams.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Context

As a Senior Data Engineer / Technical Lead, you will join a strategic Data & Analytics team responsible for building and maintaining enterprise-wide data solutions within the Azure ecosystem.

You will act as the technical reference for Data Engineers, ensuring architectural alignment, technical quality, and adherence to engineering standards. In addition to your leadership responsibilities, you will actively contribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines supporting critical business initiatives.

Working closely with Data Platform Architects, you will play a key role in shaping the evolution of the data platform while promoting best practices across the organization.

Your Responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimize data pipelines within the Azure ecosystem
• Act as the technical authority and reference point for Data Engineers
• Validate pull requests, conduct peer reviews and ensure compliance with engineering standards
• Coach and mentor junior and mid-level Data Engineers
• Translate architectural guidelines into actionable technical implementations
• Collaborate closely with Data Platform Architects to ensure alignment between architecture and delivery
• Contribute to the design, evolution and continuous improvement of the enterprise data platform
• Recommend technical solutions adapted to different Data Warehouse layers (ingestion, transformation, consumption)
• Develop and maintain scalable, reliable and high-performance data solutions
• Support dimensional data modelling and collaborate with data modelers on robust data structures
• Ensure data quality, operational reliability and performance optimization
• Provide structured feedback to improve tooling, methodologies and engineering practices
• Contribute to the maturity and continuous improvement of Data Engineering practices across the organization

Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent experience
