Google Inc. in Belgium is seeking a Data Center Technician III to install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain server hardware and operating system components in Google's data centers. You will work on racks, networks, and Linux clusters as part of the Global Server Operations team.

The role requires leadership to drive small projects, cross-team collaboration, and willingness to work non-standard hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with computer hardware and server hardware or troubleshooting/diagnosing.
• Experience with Linux operating systems and networking protocols.
• Experience in project management and leadership, and collaborating and partnering with teams.

Responsabilités

• Contribute to and lead efforts/projects in the deployment, maintenance, and support of Google Cloud region infrastructure.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolve escalated technical issues regarding affected equipment.
• Help test and troubleshoot new server hardware components and designs. Configure and troubleshoot OS related issues on the server.
• Resolve technical issues using different tools until final resolution, communicating with stakeholders.
• Work non-standard hours, including weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as needed.

About the job

As an Operations Technician, you'll install, configure, test, troubleshoot and maintain hardware (like servers and its components) and server software (like Google's Linux cluster). You'll also take on the configuration of more complex components such as networks, routers, hubs, bridges, switches and networking protocols. You'll participate in or lead small project teams on larger installations and develop project contingency plans. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Belgium: €78000 - €79500 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

• Resolve technical issues (e.g., hardware, software, application, operational, process) using different tools until final resolution, communicating with different stakeholders.
• Work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as needed.
