Asenium Consulting is seeking a BI & Data Analyst Expert to drive BI and reporting modernization in a banking environment in Belgium. You will transition legacy data workflows to a scalable Power BI ecosystem, blending hands-on technical work, business analysis, and team coaching.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in BI, data analytics, or data engineering.
• Advanced Power BI expertise: DAX, Power Query/M, Premium, deployment pipelines, XMLA.
• Strong SQL and dimensional modelling skills (star/snowflake).
• Ability to translate business needs into reliable, maintainable analytical solutions.
• Fluent English; Dutch and/or French preferred.
• Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Responsabilités

Asenium is looking for a BI & Data Analyst Expert to drive BI and reporting modernisation in a banking environment. You will help transition legacy data workflows to a scalable Power BI ecosystem, combining hands‑on technical expertise, business analysis, and team coaching.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the modernisation of legacy reporting and ETL workflows, ensuring business continuity throughout the transition.
• Design a scalable Power BI architecture, applying best practices for performance, security, deployment, and reuse.
• Translate business requirements into optimised analytical data models, including star and snowflake schemas.
• Define source-to-target mappings, optimise ETL/ELT pipelines, and integrate data sources with appropriate data quality controls.
• Establish documentation standards for datasets, business definitions, data lineage, refresh policies, and workflow dependencies.
• Design test cases, validate outputs with business stakeholders, and resolve performance issues and data inconsistencies.
• Coach team members on advanced DAX, Power Query/M, and collaborative Power BI development.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to support adoption, governance, and continuous improvement.

Must-have requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant experience in BI, data analytics, or data engineering.
• Advanced expertise in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query/M, Premium capacities, deployment pipelines, and XMLA endpoints.
• Strong SQL skills and experience in dimensional modelling, star/snowflake schemas, and Power BI dataflows.
• Proven ability to translate business needs into reliable, maintainable analytical solutions.
• Strong analytical, communication, coaching, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
• A pragmatic, collaborative mindset, with a focus on quality, risk awareness, and knowledge sharing.
• Fluency in English, plus Dutch and/or French.
• Master’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

Nice-to-have requirements:

• Experience with banking data and BI transformation in financial services.
• Knowledge of Alteryx, SAS, Denodo VQL, SSIS, and/or Azure Data Factory.
• Experience integrating Power BI solutions with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
