As a Data & AI Governance Manager within the Lighthouse team, you contribute to multidisciplinary Data & AI transformation programs where governance plays a central role in enabling trust, scalability and value creation across the organisation.

You support organisations in designing and implementing end-to-end Data & AI governance capabilities, ensuring that data and AI systems are reliable, explainable, compliant and aligned with business objectives.

This role sits at the intersection of regulation, Data & AI and business value. Your focus is on building robust and future-proof governance frameworks that support both compliance and scalable innovation. You will help organisations design, operationalise and scale Data & AI operating models, translate regulatory requirements into actionable governance capabilities, and embed governance into everyday decision‑making.

This role is suited for an experienced consultant with strong expertise in Data & AI governance and the ability to engage senior stakeholders while driving tangible delivery outcomes.

What will you do?
1. Design Data & AI governance strategies
  • Advise clients on governance frameworks, operating models and capabilities.
  • Define structures, roles, policies and processes across the data and AI lifecycle.
  • Translate regulatory and business requirements into pragmatic governance designs.
  • Assess data maturity and define actionable roadmaps.
2. Enable scalable and automated governance
  • Support the transition from manual to scalable and automated governance models.
  • Embed governance-by-design in data pipelines, AI lifecycles and business processes.
  • Design monitoring, reporting and auditing capabilities.
  • Promote data-as-an-asset and data product thinking.
3. Drive governance implementation and architecture oversight
  • Lead tooling selection and implementation, for example Collibra, Microsoft Purview and Informatica.
  • Ensure alignment with data quality, lineage, ownership and security requirements.
  • Define and implement standards such as metadata, Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and data quality frameworks.
  • Bridge Data & AI, IT, Risk and Business stakeholders.
  • Align Data & AI governance with broader enterprise governance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, such as CDOs, CIOs, CROs and AI leads.
  • Translate complex topics into clear risks, scenarios and recommendations.
  • Support organisations in navigating regulatory challenges and AI adoption.
5. Contribute to growth and innovation
  • Support proposals and define governance value cases.
  • Position governance as a key enabler of Data & AI transformation.
  • Contribute to Lighthouse’s governance offering across industries.
  • Develop reusable assets such as playbooks, accelerators and standards.
  • Drive innovation in areas such as AI governance and data product governance.
6. Strengthen collaboration and capabilities
  • Coach teams on governance practices, tools and delivery approaches.
  • Facilitate collaboration between Data, AI, Risk, IT and Business teams.
  • Contribute to building a strong governance community within Lighthouse.
What you bring
  • 4–6 years of experience in Data & AI governance. Consulting experience is a plus.
  • Experience in regulatory‑driven environments, involving regulations and standards such as BCBS 239, Solvency II, GDPR, the EU AI Act and CSRD.
  • Knowledge of governance frameworks such as DAMA‑DMBOK and DCAM is a plus.
  • Hands‑on experience with governance tooling such as Collibra, Microsoft Purview, Informatica, DataHub or similar platforms.
  • Experience with data quality and metadata tooling, such as Collibra Data Quality, Soda or Great Expectations.
  • Experience with automation and integration using Python, SQL and APIs.
  • Experience operationalising governance, including lineage, metadata ingestion, quality monitoring and workflows.
  • Exposure to regulated industries, such as Financial Services, is an asset.
  • Experience contributing to proposals or commercial discussions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Fluency in English and either Dutch or French.
  • An attractive remuneration package with a great number of extra-legal benefits (premium electric company car + charging card, net daily and monthly allowances, bonus, an iPhone with subscription, and many other benefits tailored through our cafeteria plan).
