VIB is a renowned research institute in Flanders, looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer to protect our Microsoft 365, Azure, endpoints, servers, networks, and identity services. You will work with the Senior Security Engineer to enhance threat detection, automate tasks, and mature our security posture while supporting researchers and staff in Ghent and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in ICT, cybersecurity or related field.
• Approximately 3 years experience in a system/infrastructure/security role.
• Solid understanding of Microsoft technologies and security principles.
• Able to analyse problems and implement practical solutions.

Responsabilités

• Monitor, investigate and respond to security alerts and incidents.
• Perform proactive threat hunting and contribute to incident response.
• Support vulnerability management and remediation follow-ups.
• Automate monitoring and security operations where possible.
• Collaborate with ICT teams and external partners to embed security.
