Spektrum is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to perform initial analysis of security events across NATO-related networks. The role involves triage, incident support, and remediation recommendations.

The successful candidate will work onsite at Mons, Belgium and hold or obtain a National or NATO Secret clearance. Responsibilities include analyzing logs, firewall/IDS events, and using tools such as SIEM and Wireshark to strengthen the cyber security posture.

Qualifications

• University degree in a technical/IT subject plus 1+ year cyber security analysis experience, OR 3+ years relevant experience without a degree.
• Comprehensive knowledge of computer/communications security principles, TCP/IP networking, Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Broad understanding of network security threats and mitigation techniques.
• Experience with SIEM products (e.g. ArcSight, Splunk).
• Experience analysing NIDS events (e.g. SourceFire, Palo Alto Network Threat Prevention).
• Log analysis from firewalls, proxies, routers, DNS, and other security appliances.
• Network traffic capture analysis using Wireshark.
• Logical, structured approach to security investigations using large/complex datasets.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to work independently and in a team

• Present findings in a clear, structured format with remediation recommendations
• Conduct research and assessments of security events within the Cyber Security Centre
• Analyse firewall, IDS, anti-virus, and other network sensor-produced events
• Leverage extended toolset (log collection, intrusion detection, packet capture, vulnerability assessment, network devices) to enhance investigations
• Support the end-to-end Incident Handling process
• Propose optimisations and enhancements to improve the organisation’s cyber security posture

• Cyber Security: The NCIA provides advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect NATO’s communication networks and information systems against cyber threats.

• Satellite Communications: The NCIA provides satellite communications services to enable secure and reliable communications between NATO forces.
• Electronic Warfare: The NCIA provides electronic warfare services to support NATO’s mission to detect, deny, and defeat threats to its communication networks.

Assistance and Advisory Service (AAS)

The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) is NATO’s principal C3 capability deliverer and CIS service provider. It provides, maintains and defends the NATO enterprise-wide information technology infrastructure to enable Allies to consult together under Article IV, and, when required, stand together in the face of attack under Article V.

To provide these critical services, in the modern evolving dynamic environment the NCI Agency needs to build and maintain high performance-engaged workforce. The NCI Agency workforce strategically consists of three major categorise’s: NATO International Civilians (NIC)’s, Military (Mil), and Interim Workforce Consultants (IWC)’s. The IWCs are a critical part of the overall NCI Agency workforce and make up approximately 15 percent of the total workforce.

Role Background
