Job summary

STOW Group is seeking a Customs and Trade Expert to work across the organization to drive growth, resolve complex issues and identify improvement opportunities. You will collaborate with sales, logistics and finance to ensure compliant international trade processes.

The role requires a strong background in customs and international trade, fluent English and either French or Dutch, and the ability to operate under deadlines in a dynamic, global context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
• 5–10 years hands-on experience in customs, forwarding, logistics or international trade.
• Excellent analytical and commercial arithmetic skills.
• Ability to react quickly to inquiries and meet deadlines.
• Clear communication skills; ability to simplify complex topics.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on complex customs and trade matters to internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers.
• Create innovative, pragmatic solutions tailored to the company's needs.
• Act as a thought partner to sales and purchase teams for export countries and support project development.
• Guide logistics and finance teams to ensure correct and compliant order fulfillment.
• Stay updated with market developments and industry best practices.
• Extend expertise through continuing education and seminars; design training for sales, finance and logistics teams.

Job Description

As Customs and Trade Expert you will work with people across our organization committed to bringing growth to stow, solve issues and actively look for opportunities to improve.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Provide internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers with expert advice on complex customs and trade matters
• Create innovative yet pragmatic solutions tailored to the company’s specific needs.
• Act as a thought partner to our sales and purchase teams for export countries, supporting the development of projects
• Guide our logistics and finance teams to ensure correct and compliant fulfillment of orders
• Stay up to date with market developments
• Extend your expertise through continuing education and seminars
• Design and administer training to educate our sales force, finance teams and logistics teams and improve our export capabilities
• Dotted line to Customs & Trade Manager and take over the tasks of this colleague in case of absence and after his retirement (in 1-2 years).

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Master's degree
• Minimum 5 -10 years of relevant hands‑on experience in customs, forwarding, logistics, international trade, triangular sales.
• Excellent analytical skills and commercial arithmetic skills.
• Ability to quickly react to queries and to work against deadlines.
• Clear communication skills, synthesizing complex matters into comprehensible material
• Demonstrate unwavering maturity and professionalism in complex and stressful situations
• Fluency in English,French and/or Dutch
