Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Staff Program Manager to drive innovation and excellence across our organisation. You will coordinate complex, multi-disciplinary programs that impact scientific advancement and customer success.

This role develops comprehensive project plans, aligning cross-functional teams and maintaining communications with stakeholders at all levels. A strategic leader is required to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field with at least 6 years related CDMO/pharma experience.
• 3+ years in a project or program management role dealing with customers, ideally in contract manufacturing.
• Experience with CMC and CDMO processes and lifecycle knowledge.
• Strong financial forecasting, budgeting, tracking, and reporting skills.
• Proven ability to identify and manage risk.
• Excellent communication across all levels in a matrix environment.
• Pragmatic, proactive and flexible leader of cross-functional teams.
• Fluency in French.
• Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Six Sigma preferred.

Position Summary

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Staff Program Manager and contribute to driving innovation and excellence across our organisation. As a Program Manager, you will coordinate complex, multi-disciplinary projects that directly impact scientific advancement and customer success.

This entails managing strategic programs from inception through successful delivery, ensuring thorough execution while fostering collaboration across functional teams. This role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in leading significant projects that enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

This position will develop comprehensive project plans, coordinate cross-functional teams, and maintain consistent communication with stakeholders at all levels. This includes identifying and addressing risks while promoting accountability across the organization. A strategic approach and strong leadership skills will be essential in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver all stages of program within a matrix organization on budget and time. This includes the introduction of new products into the facilities, process development, analytical method development and qualification, preparation for non-GMP activities
• Resolve project team issues and facilitate decision making within the team. Drive progress to completion to the required standard
• Communicate regularly with the business team, VVS Belgium technical team, and customer team. Report on the initially agreed upon customer and internal milestone sharing progress, issues, and risks
• Identify potential project risks with the team and develop mitigation strategies, report progress, blocking issues, and risks to all stakeholders. Know when to advance issues to senior leadership for resolution
• Demonstrate role model leadership in the execution of PM standard work and customer centric behaviour
• Be responsible for timeline & budget management, communication plans, proactive risk prevention, action tracking and project plans. Including implementing new tools and business processes to support department efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific field with 6+ years related experience in the CDMO or pharmaceutical industry. Or solid experience from a similar role, with cross-functional stakeholders
• A proven experience in a project or program management role dealing with customers (ideally in a contract manufacturing organisation), managing programs with significant business impact. Ideally, with 3+ years industry experience in CMC and CDMO processes
• Working knowledge of pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical product lifecycles, with experience executing process development or commercial manufacturing programs
• Strong understanding of financials analysis, forecasting, tracking, and reporting for projects vs. the allocated budget. Experienced in budget management
• Proven ability to identify and manage risk
• Able to connect and communicate well with all levels, in small or large audiences, and influence actions and decisions in order to get output results within a matrix environment
• Pragmatic, proactive and flexible approach to leading cross-functional teams, and resolve any conflict, in a high-paced, constantly evolving environment
• Fluency in French language
• Certification preferred (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Six Sigma, or Equivalent).
