Cultural Fire Management Council in Weitchpec, CA is seeking a Land Stewards Fire Crew Member to join a team restoring fire processes on Yurok ancestral lands. You will participate in cultural burning to achieve habitat restoration, biodiversity, wildfire risk reduction, and ecological process maintenance.

As a crew member you will operate power tools, follow incident command directions, perform equipment maintenance, document work, and mentor others.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to operate power equipment and hand tools
• Willingness to participate in training and courses

Responsabilités

• Operate power equipment and hand tools to prepare burn units.
• Participate in burning operations under incident command.
• Maintain equipment and vehicle cleanliness and safety.
• Document work progress and data on GPS tablets.
• Mentor team members and support plants crew as needed.
• All other duties as assigned.
