Job summary

Interval is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer for a freelance project in Brussels, Belgium. The role focuses on enterprise vulnerability management, on-prem and cloud security, and automation across complex environments, onsite in Brussels with a start on 20 December 2026.

A daily rate is available and is commensurate with experience. The engineer will manage the full vulnerability lifecycle, conduct assessments, and coordinate remediation with security, infrastructure and cloud teams while

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in cybersecurity engineering and vulnerability management.
• Strong scripting in Python/Bash for automation and integrations.
• Solid Linux/Windows/VMware ESXi administration and hardening.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full vulnerability lifecycle from identification to verification.
• Perform vulnerability assessments, produce remediation plans and risk reports.
• Coordinate remediation, patching and security updates across teams.
• Deploy and harden Linux, Windows and VMware ESXi environments.
• Secure network infrastructure including firewalls and VPNs.
• Develop automation scripts and API integrations for security tools.
• Improve availability, scalability and resilience of security services.
• Monitor risks and KPIs, reporting clearly to stakeholders.
