Thales in Herstal, Belgium is seeking a Configuration Manager for M-BOM management within the PLM environment. You will verify M-BOM content, ensure documentation approvals, and coordinate changes across development, logistics, production, and purchasing to support industrialization.

The role requires 5+ years in product and process development, Windchill familiarity, and strong communication skills in French and English. On-site work with collaboration across departments is expected.

Qualifications

• More than 5 years of professional experience in a product and process development team.
• Experience with a PLM system, ideally Windchill.
• Experience in configuration and change management processes.
• Knowledge of ERP workflow & activities (ordering, follow‑up stock depletion, …)
• Rigorous, meticulous, and organized.
• Strong soft skills, effective communication.
• Language: French proficient, English good level.

Responsabilités

• Verify the content of the M-BOM: structure, presence of E-BOM articles, necessary sub-assembly levels and their documentation (DRW’s, production instructions, process inspections, production tools, …)
• Assure that all documents are validated (approvals) by the respective services before officializing them in the PLM system
• Follow up ECR tasks related to M-BOM changes, fine‑tune the content with logistics & production department
• Fine‑tune change implementation with logistics, production and purchasing (activation date, product obsolescence → scrapping of stock, retrofit, …)
• Check correct data receiving into ERP system (OCM) with logistics
• Creation of Baseline M-BOM linked to project or contract milestones
• Manage all process changes (purely M-BOM) according to internal & customer regulations
• Manage M-BOM variants due to customer specific requirements
• Play an important role in communication towards the logistic and production facilities; strong soft skills are essential

Mission

Support of Configuration management team. The configuration manager MBOM (Manufacturing BOM) ensures the proper creation of the manufacturing BOM for new product in our portfolio and the maintenance of the current portfolio. He/she will be responsible for verifying the completeness of the M-BOM before officializing it in the PLM system and communicating it to the ERP system (OCM).

Assure the necessary product baselines (configuration) will be registered during the development and validation of the product. These baselines are linked to the development process (DDQS) defined by Thales. He/she coordinates and monitors the execution of M-BOM changes from development, verification and validation up to industrialization.

Location: Herstal, Belgium.

Mission Overview

Due to the number of projects, we need reinforcements in the Configuration team, especially on the M-BOM part. The PLM tool used is PTC's Windchill, linked to the CAD tool Creo.
