Job summary

Thales in Herstal, Belgium, is seeking an experienced Configuration Management professional to support the CM team. The role focuses on creating and maintaining E- & M-BOM baselines, ensuring completeness before PLM finalization, and coordinating changes across development and manufacturing with Windchill and Creo.

Responsibilities

• Verify the content of the E- & M-BOM: structure, presence of BOM articles, necessary sub-assembly levels inclusive their documentation (DRW’s, production instructions, process inspections, production tools, …).
• Perform impact analysis of product & process changes with the different departments (logistics, quality, Methods, purchasing, bid & projects).
• Assure that all documents are validated (approvals) by the respective services before officializing them in the PLM system.
• Follow up in ECR and their related Change tasks, assure progress and completion within the desired time frame.
• Fine tuning change implementation with logistics, production and purchasing (activation date, product obsolescence’s => scrapping of stock, retrofit, …).
• Creation of Baseline BOM linked to project or contract mile stones
• Manage all product AND process changes with internal & customer regulations
• Manage M-BOM variants due to customer specific requirements

Mission:Support of Configuration management team
The configuration manager E- & M- BOM (Engineering & Manufacturing BOM) ensures the proper creation of the bill of material for new products in our portfolio but also the maintenance of the actual portfolio. He/she will be responsible to verify completeness of the BOM’s before officializing it in the PLM system and communicating it towards the ERP system (OCM).
Assure the necessary product baselines (configuration) will be registered during the development and validation of the product. These baselines are linked to the development process (DDQS) defined by Thales.
He/she coordinates and monitors the execution of E- & M-BOM changes from development, verification and validation up to industrialization.

Mission Overview:

Due to the number of projects, we need reinforcements in the Configuration team. The PLM tool used is PTC's Windchill, linked to the CAD tool Creo.
