Compass Lexecon is seeking Economists to join our team in Brussels to advise on competition issues before the European Commission and other authorities. You will relate client issues to economic theory and support analyses with solid empirical evidence, working independently and mentoring junior staff.

Applicants typically hold a Ph.D. in economics or a Master’s with several years in competition economics, and will engage in day-to-day project management and high-level client communication.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in economics, ideally with focus on industrial organisation or applied econometrics, or Master’s/Bachelor’s in economics with 2–4 years experience.
• Experience in competition economics or related consulting/regulatory environment.

Responsabilités

• Interacting extensively with clients to gain insight into their industry.
• Contributing to development of theoretical and empirical approach.
• Utilising literature to support economic arguments.
• Conducting empirical analysis using Excel and Stata.
• Overseeing the day-to-day running of the project.
• Drafting reports summarising analysis.
• Delivering an accurate and high-quality work product.
• Participating in client meetings and conference calls.
• Mentoring and supervising junior staff.
