Job summary

Compass Lexecon is seeking interns to support competition practice work in Brussels. You will assist with analysing data, reviewing literature, and conducting empirical work under supervision, gaining exposure to cases before European and national authorities.

Eligible candidates are pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in economics (microeconomics, IO, econometrics). Strong analytical ability and communication skills are essential; fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Currently undertaking or recently completed Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in economics, ideally with focus on microeconomics, industrial organisation and/or econometrics.
• Highly analytical
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic Stata or Excel skills
• Fluent in written and spoken English

Responsibilities

• Analysing qualitative and quantitative client data to understand how competition works in their industry
• Reviewing literature and contributing to discussions about the theoretical and empirical approach
• Conducting empirical analysis using Excel and Stata
• Drafting reports summarising analysis
• Participating in client meetings and conference calls
