ENTSO-E is seeking a seasoned Compensation & Benefits Manager to lead our rewards strategy and ensure reliable payroll and benefits operations. You will direct a 3–4 person team, partner with senior management, and drive HR systems modernization in a collaborative, international setting from the ENTSO‑E Secretariat in Brussels.

You will bring 10+ years in C&B and Payroll, deep Belgian social legislation expertise, and strong financial acumen, along with English fluency and professional knowledge

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Economics, Human Resources or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits and Payroll.
• Deep knowledge of Belgian Social Legislation.
• Experience with union relations and social dialogue.

Responsabilités

• Maintain and evolve a Compensation & Benefits Strategy aligned with market and internal equity.
• Ensure compliance with Belgian legislation and timely changes.
• Lead a team of 3–4, developing their skills and collaboration.
• Oversee C&B financial cycle with a €2M–€3M budget and long-term resource planning.
• Steward the payroll process and coordinate with vendors for accuracy and timeliness.
• Serve as a point of contact for employee representatives and unions, ensuring social dialogue integrity.
• Translate HR metrics into actionable insights for the Resources Committee and Board.
• Guide evolution of HR and time-management tools to support the organisation.

Job Description

Are you a strategic HR professional with a deep mastery of total rewards, resource planning and Belgian social legislation? We are looking for an experienced Compensation & Benefits Manager to join our People, Talent & Culture team, and who is ready to take ownership of ENTSO‑E’s rewards strategy and ensure reliable, high‑quality payroll and benefits operations.

In this role, you will oversee a team of 3-4 people, act as a trusted advisor to senior management, and steer the development of our HR systems and processes. If you combine strong technical expertise with a people‑centred approach and enjoy working in a collaborative, international environment, this position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organisation.

You will work in the ENTSO-E Secretariat in Brussels, reporting to the Head of People, Talent & Culture.

Your Responsibilities

Your tasks will vary depending on project priorities and may include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain and evolve a comprehensive Compensation and Benefits Strategy that balances market competitiveness with our commitment to internal equity and fairness.
• Ensure that the association is compliant and implement all changes to stay ahead of any legislation changes.
• Lead a specialised team of 3-4, focusing on their professional development and fostering a collaborative environment where expertise is shared and celebrated.
• Oversee the Compensation & Benefits financial cycle, managing a €2M–€3M budget and providing the long‑term resource forecasting essential for ENTSO‑E’s strategic roadmap.
• Take stewardship of the full payroll process, partnering with vendors to ensure that our people are supported by accurate, timely, and high‑quality service.
• Act as a key point of contact for employee representatives and unions, facilitating transparent social dialogue and overseeing social elections with integrity.
• Translate complex HR metrics and people data into clear, actionable insights for the Resources Committee and the Board, helping to guide executive decision‑making.
• Steer the evolution of our HR and time‑management tools, ensuring our digital workspace is intuitive, integrated, and ready to support the organisation.

Your profile

We are looking for a motivated professional with the following skills and qualifications:

• University degree in Economics, Human Resources, or a related field.
• You bring 10+ years of progressive experience in Compensation & Benefits and Payroll. You have a proven track record of managing these functions within complex organizational structures, ideally in an international or regulated sector.
• You possess a deep, practical understanding of Belgian Social Legislation and have experience navigating the nuances of Union relations and social dialogue.
• You have strong financial acumen, and comfortable working with numbers and budgets.
• You are a natural mentor who enjoys building strong, diverse teams. You believe in leveraging individual strengths to achieve common goals and are committed to fostering a supportive team environment.
• You translate complex data into clear narratives for executive stakeholders.
• You handle sensitive payroll, union, and contractual matters with absolute discretion, ensuring a "people-first" approach while upholding organisational standards.
• Strong command of Microsoft 365 and experience with HRIS and payroll tools.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Professional fluency in French or Dutch is required.

ENTSO-E is the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity. We coordinate the cross‑border system operations, system development and electricity market activities of the 40 electricity transmission system operators (TSOs) which cover 36 countries.
