Sphere Defense is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer and Machinist for onsite work in Belgium. You will transform CAD data into CAM toolpaths, read models for tight tolerances, and verify parts against drawings using GD&T.

You will program and operate 5-axis mill-turn CNC machines on aerospace-grade alloys, ensuring machine health and tolerance compliance. Excellent CAM skills and knowledge of HEIDENHAIN/FANUC controllers, plus experience with regulated environments, are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to program 5-axis CNC machines for tight tolerance aerospace parts.
• Ability to read and interpret complex CAD models and drawings with GD&T.
• Experience with aluminum, steel, or titanium alloys in milling/turning processes.

Responsabilités

• Ensure machined parts conform to drawings via manual and automated measurements.
• Version, document and maintain CAM programs in the company library.

About you

You are an experienced and highly-motivated CNC Programmer and Machinist that has worked programming and operating CNC machines (mill/turn) for complex, tight tolerance, 5-axis pieces in a variety of aerospace-grade alloys (e.g.: aluminum, steel, titanium).

What you’ll do

• Transform CAD files to CAM toolpaths for high-precision, 5-axis milled/turned pieces

• Read CAD models and drawings to ensure adherence to required dimensions and specifications

• Ensure machined parts correspond to drawings via manual and automated measuring

• Version, document and maintain CAM programs within the company library

• Program and operate 5-axis mill-turn CNC machines for complex manufacturing of parts in aerospace-grade alloys

• Ensure good working order of mill-turn CNC machines, including tolerance checks

Location

Onsite in Nivelles, Walloon Brabant, Belgium, with occasional travel to Brussels.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience working with complex and tight tolerance 5-axis machined parts (milled/turned)

• Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and models, including interpretation of GD&T

• Demonstrated experience working with aluminum and steel on milling/turning machines

• Experience working with clients in regulated industries such as medical, aerospace, defense

• Excellent understanding of CAM processing steps, with proficiency in at least one CAM software package (e.g. Autodesk Fusion, hyperMILL, NX CAM) and using post-processors

• Experience working with controllers such as HEIDENHAIN and FANUC

• Good command of English, French and/or Dutch is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-performance or hard materials such as titanium and Inconel

• Experience with metal bending machines and other kind of machinery (laser welders, waterjet cutters)

• Experience working in a fast-paced, engineering-driven environment

• Experience operating within Quality Management Systems
