Job summary

itsme® is seeking a Cloud & System Engineer to strengthen our data platforms and cloud infrastructure in Belgium. You will work closely with development teams to design, deploy, and operate scalable data pipelines and datalake solutions, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability across products.

The role emphasizes data-centric backend work, automation, and collaboration with BI and DevOps teams to sustain our growth and international expansion in digital identity services.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in building and operating data platforms and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Assist developers with database setups and structure to maintain performance and integrity.
• Troubleshoot database performance issues and define actions for improvement
• Set up and maintain a new data platform based on Databricks
• Automate deployment, scaling, and management of containerized apps in a public cloud
• Implement security standards (e.g., NIST, OWASP)
• Manage incidents including security events and error rates
• Identify root causes across application, network, infra, and storage layers
• Grow team data engineering capabilities and troubleshoot database incidents
• Automate repetitive tasks and champion IaC practices
