Job summary

Knauf Insulation is seeking a Circular Economy Manager in Visé, Belgium, to drive the sustainability journey and align efforts across the organisation. You will lead the CE strategy, coordinate take-back services, and communicate progress at all levels of the business.

You will implement programs, develop dashboards, and collaborate with teams to achieve CE targets while coordinating packaging requirements under PPWR. English fluency and a technical/managerial background are essential.

Qualifications

• Higher education – studies with a sound technical & managerial background
• 5 - 10 years’ experience on circular economy topics, with a focus on program management
• Good understanding of the functioning of a waste business
• Project & program management skills
• Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Fluent in English
• Computer literate on online collaboration tools, MS Office and Email
• Ability to take a strategic vision on a topic and to communicate with higher management
• Ability to mobilize the whole company around one of the most important overarching objectives
• Organizational skills: Ability to coordinate several projects & programs simultaneously
• Team player with capacity to create transversal collaboration with other teams
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and with different perspectives on a topic
• Fluent in French or German (added advantage)

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the Circular Economy (CE) Strategy across regions, functions and markets
• Provide guidance to market and operational teams on setting up recycling services across different markets
• Lead the Circular Economy SteerCo and coordinate with other departments supporting the strategy
• Connect regions and departments to ensure alignment and effective collaboration
• Monitor & inform on the speed of the transition towards the CE objective & targets, and coordinate implementation of corrective actions
• Drive the transition program towards implementation of the Circular Economy strategy with a clear focus on the take-back services for off-cuts
• Keep overview of the projects, running or in the pipeline, to achieve the CE targets
• Create and maintain the CE dashboard and share it to ensure it is part of the management review at all levels
• Provide input & participate in the key KI projects related to achieving the Circular Economy targets
• Act as the internal knowledge partner on circular economy topics through internal communication and awareness raising
• Coordinate the packaging roadmap to integrate new sustainability requirements coming both from legislation and market demand
• Coordinate all projects to fulfill the PPWR requirements
• Translate local needs into transversal packaging projects
• Create and maintain a mid-term strategic packaging roadmap in coordination with all relevant internal teams
• Act as the internal reference point for circular economy and packaging topic
• Stay up-to-date on the Circular Economy developments and share key learnings internally
• Ensure waste management services are harmonized across the company
• Represent KI in external events related to circular economy
• Represent KI in Circular Economy discussions at Knauf level
• Drive continuous improvement of processes and tools
• Participate in improvements using RCA, 5S and improvement proposals
• Lead approved improvement projects with management support
