Job summary

Vector Synergy is seeking a Chief Technician (Virtual Infrastructure) to manage the NISC IaaS environment from Mons, Belgium. The role covers on-prem, private, and public clouds, ensuring continuous operation and service quality.

You will administer IaaS systems, troubleshoot issues, and maintain virtualization stacks with VMware ESXi, vSAN, blade and rack-mount hardware in a security-conscious setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with on-premises and cloud IaaS implementations.
• Proficient in VMware ESXi, vSphere and vSAN.
• Strong troubleshooting and system administration skills.
• Familiarity with NATO-related security environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Guarantee seamless operation and maintenance of NISC IaaS Services across on-premises, private, or public clouds.
• Perform system administration tasks for assigned IaaS-related systems.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues and support timely resolution.

Skills, knowledge, experience required:

• Practical proficiency in both on-premises and cloud technologies (both public and private) ;
• Familiarity with the operations and standards of Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), including physical and virtual servers, VMware hypervisor, and storage devices ;
• Hands-on experience with virtualization using VMWare ESXi , blade and rack-mount servers, and Hyperconverged Infrastructure ( vSAN ) .

Desirable:

• Industry certifications related to virtualization, Linux operating systems, cloud, and containerization technologies ;
• Previous work experience in a service provisioning organization ;
• Familiarity with the responsibilities and structure of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) .

Duties/role:

• Guaranteeing the seamless operation and maintenance of NISC IaaS Services, regardless of whether they are hosted on-premises, in private clouds, or in public clouds;
• Performing system administration tasks for assigned IaaS-related systems;
• Identifying and troubleshooting issues and supporting their timely resolution .
