Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Global Category Manager for Packaging within Innovative Medicine. You will lead end-to-end sourcing strategies, manage relationships with senior supplier executives, and coordinate with global stakeholders across Supply Chain and Technical Community to shape supplier choices for NPDs and NPIs.

You will drive multi-country initiatives, oversee large-scale negotiations, and ensure compliance and value creation in the Primary Packaging category.

This role will direct the development of end-to-end leadership in an important portfolio in the Packing Category space for JNJ Innovative Medicine. This includes strategy development, shaping key relationships within the business and managing key supplier relationships. This role covers the E2E scope (including development, through commercial to base business management) of the Primary Packaging space and requires a PG30 Global Category Manager with strong procurement and business acumen to lead this space in a compelling manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute E2E Packaging Procurement strategies that are aligned with the business/sector needs including sourcing strategy, negotiations, contract implementation and performance against established targets (Cost drivers, risk analysis, mitigation, analytics, applicability / of category value creation).
• Manage supplier relationships, communicate changes to category strategy, execute joint collaborative initiatives, and monitor supplier contract negotiations. Relationships are with senior executives at the supplier end.
• Manages relationship with key internal senior stakeholders, both in Supply Chain and with Technical Community.
• Connect with, influence and shape the agenda with key internal Supply Chain and Technical Community stakeholders regarding the appropriate supplier selection for upcoming NPDs and NPIs.
• Manage & prioritize portfolio of Procurement segment specific initiatives and provide updates to Global Procurement Leadership.

Qualifications

• Broad-based understanding of business operations and practices
• High level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (e.g., supplier management and performance, supply market analysis, Category Management, Procurement Excellence, etc.)
• Strong experience in Primary Packaging is preferred
• Expertise in contracting, understanding regulatory, legal, compliance and commercial elements
• Customer Orientation, including building and maintaining strong relationships with JNJ senior Management
• Strong level of credibility with internal customers, and with the supplier community
• Strong leadership, vision and strategy setting, communication, influencing, collaboration and talent development skills
• Strong project and change management capabilities
• Strong business acumen
• Multi-country and Multi-Sector experience preferred with experience across geographies of varied sizes and businesses.
• Strong verbal and written communication skill with ability to confidently present complex information
• Ability to seek and drive continuous improvements
• Ability to prioritize requests, and propose effective cost/customer service alternatives
• Judgment in developing new approaches and resolving issues
• Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., business, Finance, Procurement LT, Marketing, Technical Community, Supply Chain); Has "presence"
• Proven track record in leading cross-functional teams and executing significant influencing roles.
• Demonstrated flexibility and willingness to respond to changes in the external environment, while ensuring the organization can effectively and efficiently move through transitions

Education

• Minimum of a Bachelor's / University or equivalent degree is required; advanced degree is preferred
• MBA or equivalent Master's Degree preferred
