Group AQ, headquartered in Antwerp, is expanding its finance function with a newly created Business Controller role. You will report directly to the CFO and help shape the function, build structures, improve processes, and provide valuable insights to support strategic decision-making across the Group.

You will partner with operations and management to develop budgets, KPIs, and management reporting, while driving enhancements in systems, reporting, and governance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
• A few years of relevant experience in Controlling, Finance, or a similar position.
• Experience with M&A projects or integrations is considered an asset.
• Solid understanding of financial planning, reporting, and business performance management.
• Advanced Excel skills and affinity with ERP and reporting systems.
• Experience with Power BI is also considered an asset.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Analytical and detail-oriented.
• Hands-on and pragmatic.
• Proactive and self-driven.
• Strong communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders at different levels.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities can evolve.
• Eager to learn and motivated to grow together with the organization.

• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of management information.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
• Work closely with colleagues from operations, management, and support functions.
• Challenge and support stakeholders with financial insights and recommendations.

With offices in Antwerp (Belgium), Rotterdam (The Netherlands), and Houston (USA), we provide specialized solutions in degassing and vapor treatment, on-site filtration services, and the rental of Ship-to-Ship (STS) and terminal equipment.

To help drive this journey, we are looking for a Business Controller. The work location is our headquarters in Antwerp.

Your Role

Reporting directly to the CFO, you will become a key member of our finance team and a trusted partner to the business.

This is not a traditional controller role focused solely on reporting. As a newly created position, you will have the opportunity to help shape the function, build structures, improve processes, and provide valuable insights that support strategic decision-making across the Group.

Because we are still an entrepreneurial and fast-growing organization, we are looking for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with a hands-on approach. You are comfortable rolling up your sleeves where needed while keeping an eye on the bigger picture.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Performance Management

• Coordinate and manage the budgeting and forecasting cycles across the Group.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting.
• Support Board reporting and provide meaningful business insights.
• Develop, implement, and monitor financial and operational KPIs.
• Translate data into recommendations that improve performance and support decision-making.

• Build and further develop reporting structures, dashboards, and management information.
• Support the integration of systems and data sources across the organization.
• Drive initiatives to improve reporting efficiency, quality, and automation.
• Contribute to the further professionalization of finance processes and tools.

• Establish and maintain financial controls, procedures, and reporting standards.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of management information.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Business Partnering

• Work closely with colleagues from operations, management, and support functions.
• Challenge and support stakeholders with financial insights and recommendations.

Your Profile

You are an analytical professional who enjoys understanding how a business operates and is motivated by creating structure in a growing environment. You are curious, eager to learn, and willing to take ownership.

Experience & Qualifications
