Apex Consulting in Belgium is seeking a Business Analyst – Energy to join the core of the Belgian energy market's evolution. You’ll combine data analysis, market operations and stakeholder collaboration to build expertise in the energy sector.
The role offers exposure to energy-market processes, KPI monitoring and reporting, with room to grow into a domain expert and take on increasing responsibility as your knowledge deepens.
The energy sector is changing fast. New technologies, new market mechanisms and an increasingly complex energy system are reshaping the way electricity markets operate.
For a major player in the Belgian energy sector, we’re looking for a Business Analyst – Energy who wants to work at the heart of these developments.
This is not your typical IT Business Analyst role. You’ll combine data analysis, market operations, problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration while building valuable expertise in the Belgian energy market.
Already an energy expert? Great. Not yet? That's perfectly fine. We’re primarily looking for someone who’s analytically strong, curious and eager to understand how complex systems work.
You’ll contribute to the operation and further development of an important mechanism within the Belgian electricity market, helping ensure that our energy system remains reliable and future-proof.
Your role will be varied. You’ll:
You’ll be supported by experienced colleagues, so you’re not expected to master the complexity of the energy market from day one. The role is explicitly designed to allow someone to build deeper subject-matter expertise over time.
We’re deliberately keeping the profile broad.
You might currently be working as a Business Analyst, Operations Analyst, Energy Analyst, Consultant, Process Analyst or in another analytical role.
You’ll probably feel at home in this position if you:
Experience in energy is a plus, not a must. Experience with Python or other data-analysis tools is also a nice‑to‑have rather than a requirement.
This is a strong opportunity if you’re looking for something beyond a classic Business Analyst position.
You’ll get the chance to build real expertise in the Belgian energy market while working on topics that have a tangible impact on how our future energy system operates.
You’ll gain exposure to energy markets, data, financial processes, regulation, digitalisation and a broad range of stakeholders — rather than being confined to one narrow area.
And as your expertise grows, so will your responsibility.
Complex enough to keep you learning.
Broad enough to keep you growing.
Relevant to one of the biggest transformations happening in our economy.
Interested, but don’t tick every box?
We’re much more interested in your analytical ability, curiosity and willingness to learn than in finding someone who already knows every detail of the Belgian electricity market. Energy‑sector knowledge is explicitly considered an advantage rather than a prerequisite.
