eXalt in Belgium seeks a Business Analyst specialized in Energy & Utilities to connect business and IT teams. You will drive high-impact projects by gathering requirements from field interviews, workshops, and user stories, and by mapping processes to uncover optimization opportunities.

You will work with IT to build solutions, ensure stakeholder buy-in, and participate in testing through go-live, leveraging UML, BPMN, and data skills in SQL and PowerBI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Analyst in the Energy & Utilities industry.
• Knowledge of the Belgian energy market, regulatory framework, and energy transition (MIG6, GDPR, CREG…).
• Proficiency with UML and BPMN and strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Based in Belgium with English proficiency and at least a professional level of Dutch or French.
• Nice to have: Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Interest in Data (SQL, MS Access, PowerBI).
• Familiarity with Salesforce CRM, SAP ISU, Central Market System, Mecoms.
• IREB, ECBA, or CBAP certification.

As a Business Analyst specialized in Energy & Utilities, you’ll be the connecting point between business and technical teams. Your mission: bring high-impact projects to life in an energy sector undergoing constant transformation.

In concrete terms, you will:

• Gather business requirements directly from the field, through interviews, workshops, and user stories.

• Use data to gain a deep understanding of business processes and trace issues back to their root causes.

• Map existing processes to identify optimization opportunities.

• Work hand in hand with IT teams to build technology solutions aligned with business goals.

• Bridge the gap between stakeholders to ensure buy-in around proposed solutions.

• Actively contribute to testing and validation phases, all the way through to go-live.

Must have:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Functional Analyst in the Energy & Utilities industry.
• Solid understanding of the Belgian energy market: Distribution Grid Operators, the value chain, the regulatory framework, and the energy transition (MIG6, GDPR, CREG…).
• Proficiency in business analysis tools and methods (UML, BPMN), combined with strong communication skills, whether dealing with technical or non-technical stakeholders.
• You’re based in Belgium, comfortable in English both spoken and written, and have at least a professional level of Dutch (or French).
• Nice to have:Good knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• An interest in Data (SQL, MS Access, PowerBI).
• Familiarity with sector-specific IT systems: Salesforce CRM, SAP ISU, Central Market System, Mecoms.
• An IREB, ECBA, or CBAP certification.
