Job summary

DP A, the Digital Platform for Attorneys, Brussels, seeks a Business Analyst to drive analysis, documentation and continuous improvement of the justice platforms.

You will collect and validate requirements from legal and technical stakeholders, draft user stories, use cases and functional specs, and support workshops and testing.

Reporting to the COO and collaborating with IT, suppliers and courts, you will manage the backlog in an Agile context and draft multilingual communications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years as a Business Analyst in IT or digital projects.
• Experience in legal matters.
• Perfect bilingual French/Dutch (C1/C2), English at an operational level.
• Knowledge of Jira, Confluence, BPMN/UML and modelling tools.
• Interest or experience in Agile environments and regulated sectors.

DPA is the IT company of two professional organisations, the OVB (Orde van Vlaamse Balies) and the OBFG (Ordre des Barreaux francophones et germanophone), and is dedicated to further automating and digitising the legal profession.

DPA, short for “Digital Platform for Attorneys”, is an online platform that enables Belgian lawyers to communicate digitally with the judiciary, fellow lawyers and third parties.

The role

Reporting to the COO and in close collaboration with the Project Manager, you are responsible for the analysis, documentation and continuous improvement of the digital platforms of the justice system. The position offers attractive career opportunities for the right person.

Responsibilities

• Collecting, formalising and validating business and functional requirements from various stakeholders (legal, technical, administrative).
• Drawing up user stories, use cases, functional specifications and process diagrams.
• Taking an active part in workshops, demos and test phases to ensure the quality of the solutions.
• Monitoring the traceability of business requirements and the consistency of the scope.
• Supporting change management through clear documentation and communication.
• Collaborating with IT teams, suppliers, users and legal experts to ensure the quality and compliance of deliverables.
• Managing the backlog and taking part in sprint planning in an Agile context.
• Coordinating and communicating with judicial and institutional stakeholders (courts, court registries) about platform releases, incidents and user testing.
• Drafting and validating multilingual user communications (banners, newsletters, FAQs and manuals) in Dutch, French and English.

Your profile

• Experience: at least 3 years as a Business Analyst in IT or digital projects, and experience in legal matters.
• Languages: perfectly bilingual French/Dutch (C1/C2, spoken and written); English at an operational level.
• Core competencies: strong analytical and synthesis skills; excellent communication skills and diplomacy; stakeholder management; interest or experience in the legal or institutional sector; knowledge of documentation and modelling tools (Jira, Confluence, BPMN/UML, etc.); methodical accuracy and intellectual curiosity.
• Assets: experience in an Agile environment; experience in regulated sectors (public, financial, etc.); understanding of document management, workflows and system integrations.
