Daikin Europe is seeking a Budget Planning Officer at the Gent R&D center to coordinate, monitor and optimize budget activities across the EMEA Development Centre. You will keep management informed about cost evolution, propose actions to align with targets, and foster cost awareness and transparency in the organization.

Key duties include preparing the EDC Resource Plan, managing the entire budget cycle, standardizing planning processes, promoting cost responsibility, and strengthening cost

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or Commercial Engineering.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in budgeting context.
• Critical mindset with ability to improve processes.
• Excellent communication and teamwork in multicultural setting.
• Advanced Excel skills; knowledge of Power BI and SAP is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Manage the entire EDC budget cycle: tracking, controlling and reporting results vs. budget.
• Standardize and enhance budget planning, control and reporting across Europe.

DENV Research & Development Center in Gent (Zwijnaarde), with occasional travel to other locations as required.

As a Budget Planning Officer, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to coordinate, monitor, and optimize budget-related activities across EMEA Development Centre (EDC). Your role will involve keeping management informed about cost evolution, proposing necessary actions to align with targets, and fostering a culture of cost awareness and transparency within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of the EDC Resource Plan, encompassing expenses, investments, and workforce requirements.


• Management of entire EDC budget cycle: tracking, controlling and reporting of result vs. budget, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial targets.


• Standardize and enhance processes related to budget planning, control, and reporting across various development bases in Europe.


• Advocate for cost responsibility, correctness, and transparency throughout the organization.


• Enhance cost planning & monitoring as one of the main pillars of an effective project management.

Candidate Profile:

• Master’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Commercial Engineering.


• Prior experience in a similar role, demonstrating strong analytical skills and attention to detail.


• Critical mindset, constantly seeking opportunities for process improvement.


• Effective communicator and enthusiastic team player, comfortable in a multicultural environment.


• Advanced Excel user, knowledge of Power BI and SAP environment will be considered as a plus.
