Daikin Europe NV (DENV) is seeking a Budget Planning Officer to coordinate, monitor, and optimize budget-related activities across the EMEA Development Centre. You will work with stakeholders to track cost evolution, propose corrective actions, and foster cost awareness and transparency within a multinational team.

The role involves planning the EDC Resource Plan and managing the full budget cycle, with emphasis on process standardization and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Commercial Engineering.
• Prior experience in a similar role with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Critical mindset with a drive for process improvement.
• Effective communicator and team player in a multicultural environment.
• Advanced Excel user; knowledge of Power BI and SAP is a plus.
• Proficient in English.

The EMEA Development Control department, part of Daikin's EMEA Development Centre, plays a pivotal role in supporting our development teams. Main responsibilities encompass project and resource planning and follow-up, as well as the set-up and enhancement of internal processes and systems within the R&D organization.

Job Location:

DENV Research & Development Center in Gent (Zwijnaarde), with occasional travel to other locations as required.

About the position:

As a Budget Planning Officer, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to coordinate, monitor, and optimize budget-related activities across EMEA Development Centre (EDC). Your role will involve keeping management informed about cost evolution, proposing necessary actions to align with targets, and fostering a culture of cost awareness and transparency within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of the EDC Resource Plan, encompassing expenses, investments, and workforce requirements.
• Management of entire EDC budget cycle: tracking, controlling and reporting of result vs. budget, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial targets.
• Standardize and enhance processes related to budget planning, control, and reporting across various development bases in Europe.
• Advocate for cost responsibility, correctness, and transparency throughout the organization.
• Enhance cost planning & monitoring as one of the main pillars of an effective project management.

Candidate Profile:

• Master’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Commercial Engineering.
• Prior experience in a similar role, demonstrating strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
