CBTW is seeking a Cloud Architect to lead design, deployment, and governance of cloud infrastructure for European customers. You will shape strategy across DevOps, SRE, and API operations, while guiding teams to build scalable, secure solutions on AWS and/or Azure.

You will mentor engineers, drive IaC practices, and ensure robust observability and performance across systems, APIs, and integrations. Fluency in English and collaboration with cross-functional teams are essential.

What service line will you be part of?

As a Cloud Architect, you will join our Cloud & Enterprise Platforms service line.

Cloud & Enterprise Platforms is CBTW's service line dedicated to designing, operating, and optimising the technology foundations that modern organisations rely on, from cloud infrastructure and developer platforms to enterprise collaboration and service management ecosystems.

We help our clients take control of their cloud environments, modernise their platforms, and maximise the value of their enterprise tooling.

Our clients rely on us to:

• Migrate and modernise infrastructure across hybrid and multi-cloud environments,
• Automate software delivery through DevOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code,
• Build, secure, and govern API landscapes,
• Ensure reliability and full visibility through SRE and observability practices,
• Structure, govern, and optimise Atlassian platforms,
• Embed AI-powered automation into cloud and collabora tion platforms.

Responsibilities

What will you do?

You will play a critical role in shaping the strategic direction and operational excellence across four key solutions: DevOps & infrastructure, Cloud Managed Services, SRE & Observability, and API Ops.

You will design, implement, and oversee the technical solutions that drive our business forward. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create scalable, secure, and efficient systems while focusing on modern cloud architecture, API management, integration, and observability. You’ll lead a team of professionals, drive innovation and deliver solutions for our European customers.

• Solution Design and Architecture
• Design end-to-end technical solutions leveraging cloud-native architectures (AWS and/or Azure).
• Architect scalable and secure microservices-based systems to meet business and technical requirements.
• Implement best practices for system design, ensuring resilience, scalability, observability and maintainability.
• API Management and Integration
• Develop and manage strategies for API Gateways and API Operations (API Ops).
• Ensure seamless integration across platforms, services, and third-party applications.
• Implement robust API lifecycle management, including design, testing, monitoring, and deprecation.
• Observability and Monitoring
• Define and implement observability strategies to monitor system health, performance, and reliability.
• Use tools like Datadog, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent to track metrics, logs, and traces across services.
• Ensure proactive identification and resolution of performance bottlenecks and system issues.
• DevOps and Automation
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to establish CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployment.
• Drive infrastructure as code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
• Ensure secure and efficient cloud infrastructure provisioning and maintenance.
• Collaboration and Leadership
• Act as a technical advisor to engineering teams, ensuring alignment with architectural best practices.
• Work closely with stakeholders to define technical requirements and translate them into actionable solutions.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams in adopting modern architectural and operational practices.

Qualifications

What are we looking for?

Technical Skills

• Cloud Architecture: Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and designing scalable, cost-efficient solutions.
• API Gateways & API Ops: Strong knowledge of API design, gateways (e.g. Kong, AWS API Gateway), and API lifecycle management.
• Integration: Expertise in system integration using middleware, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Observability: Proficiency in observability tools like Datadog, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar.
• DevOps: Solid experience with CI/CD pipelines, IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc.), and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Microservices: In-depth understanding of microservices patterns, service mesh (e.g., Istio), and distributed systems.

Experience

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Cloud solution architecture, with at least 3 years in management & leadership roles.
• Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies.

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with fluency in English, proficiency in French or Dutch.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence stakeholders.

Certifications

• Certification in cloud platforms (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, etc.)
