Devoteam is seeking an AWS Cloud Architect to design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructures in Machelen, Belgium. You will partner with key customers to create scalable and secure solutions while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience with AWS services, IaC tools, and strong problem-solving skills. Fluency in English and Dutch is required, with additional languages a plus. Job Description

We are seeking an AWS Cloud architect to join our growing engineering team. You will design, build, and maintain robust and scalable AWS cloud infrastructures, ensuring security, reliability, and performance while driving automation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Customer obsession: Become the go‑to AWS expert for key customers and assist in pre‑sales to elevate the team.
• Architecture & Design: Design and implement highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS using best practices and architectural patterns.
• Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Drive IaC adoption using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning; implement CI/CD pipelines for deployments.
• Operations & Monitoring: Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring stability and performance; implement monitoring, alerting, and participate in on‑call rotations as needed.
• Security & Compliance: Maintain security best practices and ensure compliance with industry regulations such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and HIPAA.
• Cost Optimization: Identify and implement cost‑saving strategies while maintaining performance and reliability.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work effectively with cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated solutions and communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Lead root‑cause analysis and implement effective solutions for complex infrastructure issues.

Continuous Improvement: Stay current with AWS services and technologies, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance cloud infrastructure and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and managing AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of AWS core services (e.g., EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, Lambda, Bedrock).
• Experience with the MAP migration program from AWS.
• Extensive experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts and security best practices in AWS.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash).
• Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• AWS Certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional) are a plus.
• Fluent in English and Dutch (preferrably plus French).

Bonus

• Experience managing Kubernetes flavors (EKS, AKS, OpenShift).
• Experience with Amazon Connect.
• Experience with other public cloud providers.
• Bilingual (NL/EN) oral and written communication.
