Sphere Defense, a Brussels-based startup building autonomous countermeasures for aerial threats, seeks an embedded software engineer with strong Linux/Yocto experience. You will design and test high‑performance software for sensing, processing and actuation on flying systems, and help bring up boards with the hardware team.

You will implement robust software, optimize data and ML pipelines, and contribute to CI/CD and QA. English communication is essential; French or Dutch are a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics or equivalent.
• Experience owning complex Linux-based systems on performance constrained targets.
• Strong understanding of software engineering, OS and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python; Linux/Yocto experience.
• Experience with CI/CD processes and board bring-up testing.
• Experience integrating sensors such as cameras, IMUs and rangefinders.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop and test embedded software for autonomous countermeasures.
• Develop high-performance, reliable software with low latency.
• Collaborate with hardware team for board bring-up and validation.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines and QA-focused processes.
• Troubleshoot issues and mentor team members.
