DSM-FIRMENICH in Louvain-la-Neuve is seeking an Associate Manager, Operational SHE & S to strengthen the site's safety culture across manufacturing operations. You will coach managers and operators, promote safe behaviours, coordinate incident investigations, and ensure SHE&S standards are consistently implemented in day-to-day activities.

You will lead safety programs, drive continuous improvement, and partner with operations to deliver sustainable safety performance at a strategic site level.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Safety, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or related field.
• Experience building a strong safety culture and driving operational excellence.
• Knowledge of incident investigation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience in chemical, food, pharmaceutical, or industrial manufacturing environments is advantageous.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and drive sustainable behavioral change.
• Strong training and knowledge-transfer skills.
• Fluency in English and French.

As the site continues to modernize through significant investments and transformation initiatives, Safety, Health, Environment & Sustainability (SHE&S) remains a critical enabler of operational excellence and sustainable growth.

As Associate Manager, Operational SHE & S, you will play a key role in strengthening the safety culture across our manufacturing site. You will work closely with managers and operators to promote safe behaviors, facilitate learning from incidents, and ensure SHE&S standards are implemented consistently in day-to-day operations. Through your coaching, guidance, and visible presence in the field, you will help create an engaged, proactive, and safety-first culture while supporting the site's journey toward operational excellence.

YOU BRING

• Master's degree in Engineering, Safety, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
