Monard Law, one of Belgium’s leading independent law firms with a strong Brussels/Antwerp presence, seeks a tax law associate. The role focuses on advising on tax regulations, rulings, and insights across multiple client types—from startups to multinationals.

Fluency in Dutch and strong English are essential, with French being a plus. The candidate should have a law degree from a Belgian university, preferably with tax specialization, and several years of experience as a tax specialist in law

Responsabilités

• Advise on the application of tax regulations and tax incentives (e.g., stock option plans, withholding tax exemptions).
• Assist clients in obtaining rulings and in mergers and restructurings; represent clients during tax audits.
• Contribute to internal and external seminars and provide ongoing tax guidance to clients.
• Work with diverse (international) clients, from startups to multinational corporations across sectors.

• You will enjoy a varied job scope, including advising on the application of tax regulations (e.g., tax incentives such as stock option plans, withholding tax exemptions, etc.), guiding clients in obtaining rulings, providing assistance in the context of mergers and restructurings, representing clients during tax audits, conducting internal and external seminars, and more.


• Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to work for various (international) clients, ranging from promising and innovative startups and large (family) businesses to multinational corporations in divers sectors.

Profile

• You have a degree in Law from a Belgian university and preferably an additional specialization in taxation.


• You have several years of experience as a tax specialist in a law firm, consultancy, or within a company.


• You enjoy working independently and are goal-oriented, you have a broad knowledge of tax and legal matters.


• You always strive for excellent quality, both in terms of legal content and service level.


• You communicate smoothly, clearly, and to-the-point with clients and colleagues.


• You have a good understanding of clients' needs and proactively ask questions to frame their requirements.


• You are a natural team player, focused on collaboration and sharing information with colleagues.


• You closely follow economic trends and stay up to date with tax news.


• Your mother tongue is Dutch, but you have a good knowledge of English and French.
