Working as an AI Engineer in Ghent, you'll be responsible for shaping the future of intelligent robotics and autonomous systems. You'll help build robotic platforms that can perceive, understand, and interact with their environments using the latest advances in computer vision, machine learning, generative AI, sensor fusion, and autonomous decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy production-ready AI and machine learning solutions for robotic and autonomous systems.
- Develop perception and intelligence systems using computer vision, deep learning, sensor fusion, reinforcement learning, and generative AI.
- Build intelligent robotic systems capable of navigation, object detection, manipulation, inspection, and autonomous decision-making.
- Develop and integrate AI models for cameras, LiDAR, radar, IMU and other robotic sensors.
- Engineer data pipelines and training workflows for large-scale robotics datasets, including images, video, sensor data, trajectories, and robot telemetry.
Your Profile
- 2–8 years of experience in AI Engineering, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robotics, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Experience building and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
- Strong understanding of deep learning, computer vision, robotics or autonomous systems.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured sensor or behavioural data.
- Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, ROS/ROS2, Docker and Linux.
- Understanding of robotic perception, localisation, mapping, planning or control is highly valuable.
- Experience working with real-time AI inference or edge computing is an advantage.
Nice to Have
- Experience with ROS2, Gazebo, Isaac Sim or other robotics simulation platforms.
- Experience with NVIDIA CUDA, TensorRT, Jetson or other edge-AI platforms.
- Knowledge of SLAM, visual odometry, object detection, object tracking or 3D perception.
- Experience with LiDAR, depth cameras, stereo vision, radar or sensor fusion.
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning, imitation learning or autonomous-agent architectures.
- Experience with LLMs, Vision-Language Models (VLMs) or Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models for robotics.
- Experience working with robotic manipulators, AMRs, AGVs, drones or autonomous vehicles.
