KEYES, based in Brussels, is seeking a Senior Application Cloud Architect to drive modern cloud architectures and interoperability across EU projects. You will shape solutions that leverage Semantic Web Stack, Java, and cloud technologies to support lifelong learning initiatives and cross-border employment mobility.

You will lead architecture design, document systems, assess vulnerabilities, and collaborate with business analysts, developers, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a related field and 10+ years IT experience.
• Strong Java and Semantic Web Stack expertise with RDF/OWL processing.
• Experience with cloud, microservices, and architecture frameworks (TOGAF/Cobit).

Responsabilités

For one of our main clients based in Brussels - a European Institution, we are looking for a Senior Application Cloud Architect with expertise in Semantic web stack, Cloud and Java to support corporate solutions in the area of lifelong learning and improving European’s career path and employment mobility. The project is focused on:

a) Architectural guidance and support.

b) Technical support in analysing compatibility with ESCO.

c) Technical support on integration/interoperability with Eures/Europass.

More specifically, you will be responsible for…

• Provide guidance and support related to system architecture and system processes with the interoperability between ESCO and EURES/Europass
• Definition of a strategy to gain efficiency in IT operations for the Project
• Preparation and maintenance of Architecture design and technical documentation
• Coordination and review of current system processes
• Participate in workshops and meetings with external stakeholders
• Assistance with the evaluation of systems to find out discrepancies and vulnerabilities
• Interaction with the business analysts, customer, users, project leaders and the developers
• Analysis of the integration of different information systems
• Data analysis and data modelling
• Coordination of the implementation of the technical architecture
• Technical interface between the project leaders and the developers
• Production of software architecture documents
• Participation in technical working groups, progress meetings and meetings with the users
• Assistance during relevant parts of testing, analysis, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting
• Creating designs and blueprints of Cloud Architecture
• Review of the architecture of existing systems to migrate of existing system in the cloud
• Design and development of architecture components and building blocks using cloud components.

For the needs of the client, you need to be based in Belgium, work on hybrid mode (1-2/week presence in the office) and be able to work as a freelancer (B2B contract).

Requirements

Are you the perfect match?

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree.
• 10 years of IT experience, preferably in software development with Java.
• Experience with Semantic Web Stack: RDF/OWL processing with Apache Jena, SPARQL, triple stores (GraphDB, Apache Fuseki), and semantic reasoning engines.
• At least 10 years of experience with Microsoft office tools.
• Practical expertise in system vulnerability assessment.
• Good knowledge of microservices and architecture in the cloud.
• Cloud and Enterprise architecture certification will be a plus.
• Knowledge of Enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF and Cobit.
• Experience/knowledge of Archimate.
• AI and Machine Learning Integration, architecture governance framework and MLOps.
• Ability to react to unexpected events efficiently and fast.
• Ability to give business and technical presentations.
