Jobtailor is seeking an experienced Android engineer to translate requirements into high quality code for the Android platform. You will design, build and maintain high performance components using Jetpack Compose, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ship new features and ensure top performance and reliability.

The role requires 6+ years in a similar role, Kotlin proficiency, and a strong TDD mindset, with experience in CI/CD, RESTful APIs, and Android design guidelines.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Kotlin for Android development.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose is required.
• Strong TDD mindset and test automation practices.
• Familiarity with Android design principles and guidelines.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, version control, and build pipelines.
• Experience consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with back-end services.

Responsibilities

• Translating requirements into high quality code
• Design, build and maintain high performance, reusable and reliable Java/Kotlin code for the Android platform with jetpack compose
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ship new features
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of the application
• Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability
• Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years experience in a similar role
• Must have KOTLIN as programming language
• Test Driven Development
• Jetpack compose experience
• Knowledge of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
• Understanding of DDD and best practices
• Familiarity with SVN/Git (Gitlab or alternative), Jenkins, SonarQube, Fortify, Confluence, JIRA
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Deployment principles
• Experience with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services and 3rd‑party libraries or APIs.
