The VIB Center for AI & Computational Biology and KU Leuven are seeking a Principal Investigator to join their faculty as Group Leader at VIB and Professor at KU Leuven.

You will build an independent research program, attract PhD students and postdocs, teach in English or Dutch, and collaborate across VIB, KU Leuven, and beyond, with a competitive funding package and state-of-the-art facilities.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in machine learning or related quantitative field.
• Experience in foundational and/or applied ML in academic or industrial settings.
• Excellent machine learning and programming experience.
• Proven ability to acquire competitive funding.
• International working experience.
• Fluency in English; Dutch language training available

Responsabilités

• Build and lead an independent research program at VIB and KU Leuven.
• Teach in English or Dutch at KU Leuven Faculty of Medicine.
• Provide scientific and societal services to enhance the reputation of VIB and KU Leuven.
