NTT DATA is seeking an AI & Data Engineer to design and deliver innovative AI and data solutions for clients. You will translate business needs into technical designs and implement production-ready data platforms and AI workflows, collaborating with presales and customer teams.

The role requires strong data engineering fundamentals, experience with data lakes/lakehouses, ETL/ELT, SQL/NoSQL, Python, and cloud/container technologies. Hybrid work and ongoing learning opportunities are offered.

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in AI & Data Engineering or similar technical roles
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms and AI solutions
• Strong knowledge of data lakes, lakehouses and data warehouse architectures
• Hands-on experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT and data integration
• Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Programming experience in Python and integrating data from various sources
• Understanding of data quality, governance and security
• Knowledge of Generative AI, LLMs and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Experience containerizing solutions with Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD and DataOps/MLOps
• Ability to translate business needs into technical designs
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Fluent in Dutch and/or French and English

We are currently looking for an AI & Data Engineer to strengthen our team and support our clients in their AI and data transformation. The AI & Data Engineer combines presales , design and hands-on engineering skills. You will work directly with clients to understand their business challenges, assess their data landscape, identify relevant AI and data opportunities, translate requirements into technical designs, and implement production-ready solutions. The role covers the full life cycle of a solution: from customer discussions and Proofs of Value (PoVs) to design, implementation, deployment and handover.

About the role

The AI & Data Engineer will be part of the team responsible for designing and delivering innovative AI and data solutions to NTT DATA clients.

A strong data engineering foundation is essential for this role. You understand how enterprise data is collected, integrated, transformed and made available for analytics and AI workloads. On top of this data foundation, you design and implement solutions using machine learning, Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG and AI agents. You are comfortable moving between customer-facing conversations, design and hands-on implementation.

What will make you a good fit?

Technical skills:

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Data Science or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in AI & Data Engineering, Data Architecture, Solution Architecture or similar technical roles
• Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise data platforms and AI solutions
• Strong knowledge of data lakes, lakehouses and data warehouse architectures
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT, data pipelines and data integration
• Experience with data modelling and preparing data for analytics and AI workloads
• Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• Programming experience, preferably Python
• Experience integrating data from APIs, databases, files and enterprise applications
• Understanding of data quality, security and governance
• Strong understanding of Generative AI, LLMs and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise data and applications
• Strong containerization skills, including Docker & Kubernetes
• Understanding of cloud platforms, CI/CD and DataOps/MLOps principles
• Ability to translate business and functional requirements into technical designs

Soft skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Customer-oriented with the ability to understand business and technical requirements
• Comfortable with presales activities, workshops and customer presentations
• Proactive, curious and eager to learn new technologies
• Good communication and documentation skills
