Elia Group is seeking an AI Architect to turn emerging AI capabilities into production-grade blueprints and governance across the organization. You will own target architecture, standards, and a governance framework for AI development and deployment from ML to RAG systems and agents.

You’ll collaborate with AI governance, Cybersecurity, and Engineering teams, accelerating AI solution delivery and ensuring security-by-design across Elia Group.

Formación

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent through relevant professional experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in AI, cloud, or data engineering and architecture, including at least 5 years delivering AI/ML solutions in production environments.
• Proven experience in building and operating platforms or shared technical capabilities used by multiple teams.
• Experience as an architect or technical lead in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch, French and/or German is considered an asset.
• Expertise in AI Solution Architecture and the design of production-ready AI platforms and solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Machine Learning, Generative AI, Agentic AI, and the full AI model lifecycle.
• Experience with MLOps, CI/CD, monitoring, model governance, and observability.
• Extensive expertise within the Microsoft Azure AI ecosystem and cloud-native engineering.
• Knowledge of modern platform engineering, Kubernetes, API architectures, and reusable building blocks.
• Experience with data and AI platforms such as Databricks, MLflow, and vector databases.
• Good understanding of cybersecurity, AI governance, compliance, and security-by-design principles.

Responsabilidades

• Create reusable building blocks and blueprints (frameworks, templates, pipelines, reference implementations) to accelerate AI enablement and security.

• Translate technical choices into business terms, communicating risks, value, and reusability to stakeholders.
• Oversee integration of shared AI capabilities with Group IT principles and guidelines.

AI Architect

Function

The Central AI Team enables and co-creates valuable, useful and trustworthy core AI solutions for Elia Group while exploring new AI capabilities.

As the AI Architect, you’ll turn emerging AI capabilities into production-grade, reusable blueprints for core AI archetypes that accelerate the enablement, adoption and security of AI across Elia Group. Working hand in hand with other teams like AI governance, Cybersecurity, and Engineering and Architecture, you define the best and most valuable architecture patterns for core AI solutions that enable our AI teams to move fast without breaking things. You’ll own the target architecture, standards and governance framework for AI development and deployment across all types of AI from ML to RAG systems and agents.

Elia Group has over 40 AI use cases in production, with many more in the pipeline. In this role, you’ll accelerate and improve our AI solution delivery.

Responsibilities

• 7+ Years experience in solution architecture with a focus on AI systems in production
• Consistently evaluate new AI capabilities and define how they can be effectively implemented and operationalized in developing and deploying new AI solutions.
• Lead the technical design, build and evolution of AI building blocks and developer playbooks, ensuring they are production-ready, scalable, easy to use and maintainable.
• Create reusable building blocks and blueprints (frameworks, templates, pipelines, reference implementations) that accelerate the enablement, adoption and security of AI within the company.
• Translate technical choices into business language: clearly explain technical constraints, trade-offs and opportunities in terms of risk, value, and reusability.
• Consolidate the concerns and opinions of both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including enterprise and domain architecture, software solution architecture, IT Security, engineering, data science and machine learning engineering, AI and IT governance, strategy and controlling.
• Ensure shared AI capabilities integrate with the broader Group IT landscape, architecture principles and guidelines.

Your Profile
