Qualifications

Responsabilités

• Act as the technical reference for AI architecture and digital transformation.
• Design reference architectures for AI solutions and ensure integration into complex IT environments.
• Contribute to the design and evolution of the AI Lab.
• Define architectures for ML, DL, LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, AI Agents, CV and Speech AI.
• Advise on cloud, hybrid and on-premise architectures.
• Work with MLOps, AI Engineering, DevSecOps, Kubernetes, containerisation, APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Integrate cybersecurity, data protection, governance, auditability and regulatory compliance into architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with project managers, technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Monitor emerging AI technologies and assess their potential business value.

Freelance Opportunity: Senior AI Architect | Brussels

We are currently looking for a Senior AI Architect for an exciting AI transformation programme within a major public-sector organisation.

Languages: Dutch and/or French (mandatory) + English (mandatory)

The Role

The organisation is developing a strategic approach to the responsible and secure use of Artificial Intelligence, with a strong focus on innovation, governance, security and regulatory compliance.

A key initiative is the development of an AI Lab — a controlled and secure environment where AI solutions can be developed, tested and validated before potential deployment into production.

As Senior AI Architect, you will play a key role in this digital transformation, combining strategic vision with strong technical expertise to design robust, scalable and secure AI solutions.

• Act as the technical reference for AI architecture and digital transformation.
• Design reference architectures for AI solutions and ensure integration into complex IT environments.
• Contribute to the design and evolution of the organisation's AI Lab.
• Define architectures for Machine Learning, Deep Learning, LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, AI Agents, Computer Vision and Speech AI.
• Advise on cloud, hybrid and on-premise architectures.
• Work with MLOps, AI Engineering, DevSecOps, Kubernetes, containerisation, APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Integrate cybersecurity, data protection, governance, auditability and regulatory compliance into architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with project managers, technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Monitor emerging AI technologies and assess their potential business value.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software solution design and development.
• At least 2 years of experience in AI/ML solution architecture.
• Proven experience designing, industrialising and deploying AI solutions in production.
• Strong knowledge of LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, AI Agents, AI Engineering and MLOps.
• Experience with cloud or hybrid architectures, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Experience integrating AI solutions into complex IT environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, AI, Software Engineering or a related field is a plus. Equivalent professional experience is also considered.
