HumanInTech in Brussels seeks a seasoned AI Solution Architect to define, design and evolve AI architectures for a public-sector digital transformation. You translate operational needs into robust, scalable technical solutions and lead AI lab initiatives.

Requirements include 5+ years in software/AI architecture, a Master’s degree, and hands-on experience with Azure and MLOps. The role is hybrid in Brussels, with full-time 40 hours per week and a 2026-12-31 end date.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in designing and developing software solutions, including at least 2 years in AI or Machine Learning solution architecture.
• Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, artificial intelligence, software engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating comparable expertise.
• Proven experience in designing, industrialising and deploying AI solutions in production environments, from requirements analysis to operational use.
• Solid knowledge of modern AI technologies, particularly LLM, generative AI, RAG, AI Agents, and AI Engineering/MLOps.
• Experience defining cloud or hybrid architectures, ideally within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.

Responsabilités

• Designing reference architectures for AI solutions, ensuring seamless integration into the existing IT ecosystem while meeting security, governance, compliance, performance and maintainability requirements
• Participating in the design, implementation and evolution of an AI lab that will serve as the reference platform for developing, experimenting with and operating AI solutions
• Defining technical architectures for ML, DL, LLM, generative AI, RAG, AI Agents, CV, Speech AI and emerging technologies
• Providing expertise on cloud, hybrid and on-premise architectures, data platforms, MLOps pipelines, API-oriented architectures, event-driven architectures, containerised environments and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
• Ensuring best practices in AI Engineering, MLOps, DevSecOps and AI Governance, integrating cybersecurity, data protection, traceability, auditability, model risk management and regulatory compliance requirements into all proposed architectures
• Collaborating with project managers to assess the technical feasibility of new initiatives, identify risks and ensure consistency with the organisation’s overall IT strategy
• Maintaining continuous technology watch on AI market developments and evaluating new technologies that could bring real added value

What you will do

You will be the technical reference for defining, designing and evolving AI architectures within a public-sector organisation undergoing digital transformation. Working closely with various partners, you will translate operational needs into robust, sustainable technical solutions.

Your responsibilities include:

• Designing reference architectures for AI solutions, ensuring seamless integration into the existing IT ecosystem while meeting security, governance, compliance, performance and maintainability requirements
• Actively participating in the design, implementation and evolution of an AI lab that will serve as the reference platform for developing, experimenting with and operating AI solutions
• Defining technical architectures for Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Large Language Models (LLM), generative AI, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, Computer Vision, Speech AI and emerging technologies
• Providing expertise on cloud, hybrid and on-premise architectures, data platforms, MLOps pipelines, API-oriented architectures, event-driven architectures, containerised environments and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes
• Ensuring best practices in AI Engineering, MLOps, DevSecOps and AI Governance, integrating cybersecurity, data protection, traceability, auditability, model risk management and regulatory compliance requirements into all proposed architectures

What we are looking for

Experience and education:

• Minimum 5 years' experience in designing and developing software solutions, including at least 2 years in AI or Machine Learning solution architecture
• Master's degree or equivalent in computer science, artificial intelligence, software engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience demonstrating comparable expertise (profiles from non-conventional backgrounds such as career changers, self-taught or open source contributors are welcome if you can demonstrate your impact)
• Proven experience in designing, industrialising and deploying AI solutions in production environments, from requirements analysis to operational use

Technical skills:

• Solid knowledge of modern AI technologies, particularly Large Language Models (LLM), generative AI, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI Agents, and the principles of AI Engineering and MLOps
• Experience defining cloud or hybrid architectures, ideally within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, and integrating AI solutions into complex IT environments
• Expertise in Python, SQL, NoSQL, Vector Databases
• Strong knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, microservices, distributed architectures
• Familiarity with MLflow, CI/CD, model monitoring, versioning, retraining and industrialisation practices

The setting

This assignment runs from October 2026 to the end of December 2026 and may be extended.

You will work in Brussels in a multidisciplinary team combining internal and external collaborators. The role is hybrid, with presence at the office at least twice a week depending on tasks and in agreement with the team. Remote work is permitted from home or from your employer's premises in Belgium.

Full-time engagement (40 hours per week).
