**POLITICO is looking for a reporter to cover one of the mostcolorfuland contentious topics in Europe: food and agriculture policy, with an emphasis on spending and trade.**

Food and farming lie at the heart of some of the EU’s biggest clashes.FromEurope-wide protests over import competitiontowar-fueled grocery inflation that threatens to topple governments, as well asthe next reform of the vast Common Agricultural Policy,this beat offers a chance to break news on some of the biggest stories in Europe.

We are looking for a reporter who can drive coverageoftopics ranging fromtheway price spikes cascade through the supply chain,to the fact and fiction of beef import quotas— while connecting the dotsbetween technical budget linesin the EU’sfarmersupport plantoexistential political debates about European autonomy and climate transition.

The successful candidate will have an eye for detail,be comfortable withnumbersandan appetite forrigorous reporting, source-buildingand scoops. They will bea team player, with a good understanding of how policy is made andtheabilityto develop sources within the EU, governments, industryorganizationsand interest groups involved in policy.

This is a full-time role basedinour Brussels newsroom.
