Umicore in Brussels is looking for an experienced finance professional to maintain the integrity of financial data and ensure compliance with IFRS standards. You will prepare monthly and annual financial statements, manage tax filings, and be involved in process optimization.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting or Finance, with at least 5 years of experience, and is fluent in English. This role offers a dynamic environment and the opportunity to contribute significantly to a leading organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in accounting processes.
• Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP; French GAAP is a plus.
• Fluency in English; Dutch and French are assets.

Responsabilités

Your Key Accountabilities

• You guard the integrity of the general ledger, ensure accuracy in financial data and proper accounting procedures. This includes posting of entries, handle month‑end and year‑end close processes, including internal controls and validation processes.
• You prepare accurate and timely monthly IFRS financial statements, as a team effort in collaboration with the Business Operations Support teams.
• You ensure compliance with IFRS accounting standards, Umicore MICR internal controls, prepare documentation for internal and external audits as well as for funding reporting.
• You prepare accurate and timely annual statutory financial statements, coordinate and consolidate statutory budget and forecasts in close collaboration with Business Partners.
• You prepare tax filings and reporting in coordination with the TAX team.
• You make sure accounting reflects business reality by connecting to the business; invest in understanding industry‑specific accounting implications; beware of new contracts, investments or restructuring that could impact financial reporting.
• You participate as SME (subject matter expert) in the review, optimization, automation and digitalization of certain RTR processes. Support improvement projects by bringing ideas, sharing expertise, assisting in testing applications and providing feedback and white smoke.
• You participate in end-to-end projects: setup requirements, meet project milestones, testing and implementation.

• The position requires a Bachelor or Master degree in Accounting, Finance, or economics.
• You have a strong technical background in accounting and have at least 5 years’ experience of accounting process operating requirements.
• You hold knowledge of Belgian GAAP, knowledge of French GAAP is a strong plus.
• You are fluent in English. Knowledge of Dutch and/or French are an asset.
• You have strong analytical skills, organized and detail minded, capable of analyzing numerical data, able to challenge and improve processes, implementing practical solutions.
• Your enthusiasm and positive mindset is not compromised when it comes to meeting deadlines, performing under pressure and addressing challenges.
