Your Key Accountabilities

• Perform literature study on waste abatement and valorization flowsheet options for metals containing materials
• Support the further development of your own, as well as the group’s expertise in this competence area
• Follow‑up research projects, ensuring effective execution and taking responsibility for the results, timing and budget
• Effectively communicate with all members of the team, including Corporate EHS
• Interact and coordinate with internal and external customers and stakeholders (research centers, technology providers, suppliers)
• Identify and generate new ideas for patent filing and participate in the drafting of funding files (Vlaio, EU…)
• Take responsibility for environmental, health and safety aspects

Who we are looking for

• You hold a PhD in Sciences or Engineering or equivalent through relevant research experience.
• You have experience in the technological and/or techno‑economic assessments in the domain of metallurgy.
• You are driven by scientific and technological challenges.
• You have good internal and external networking skills.
• You stimulate your own and others’ creativity and innovation in science and technology.
• You have a curious nature meaning that you like exploring and learning new things.
• You have strong planning and organization skills and you are result oriented.
• You have strong oral and written reporting and communication skills.
• You are a team player who is fluent in English and (willing to learn) Dutch. French is a plus.

Location

The position is based in Olen (BE).
