Job summary

Downer Energy & Utilities is seeking a Zero Harm Advisor to work across Southeast Queensland projects, providing practical safety and environmental guidance in the field and supporting planning, reporting, and improvement initiatives. The role includes coaching delivery teams, conducting risk assessments, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance.

The successful candidate will have a WHS qualification, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel between sites.

Qualifications

• Experience as a health and safety adviser or operational safety role.
• Familiarity with health, safety and environmental management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical Zero Harm and environmental advice to project managers, engineers and delivery partners.
• Coach teams to understand critical risks and verify effective controls.
• Support governance, assurance, and incident investigations including ICAM when required.
• Develop and review Zero Harm plans, risk registers, SWMS and work instructions.
• Record, review and close out incidents, hazards and audits in relevant systems.
