Job summary

The Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane is seeking a Project Officer for its Youth & Young Adults team to support the development and delivery of youth ministry initiatives across parishes, schools and communities in Brisbane. Reporting to the Director, you will engage young people, support youth leaders and strengthen faith formation opportunities.

This full-time role requires evening and weekend work, with flexibility for a four-day week for suitable candidates.

Qualifications

Minimum of three years' experience in youth ministry within the Catholic Church (essential).
Experience in a leadership role, guiding and supporting others.
Strong understanding and commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Canva.

Responsibilities

Support the delivery of youth and young adult ministry initiatives across the Archdiocese.
Prepare and facilitate presentations, workshops and faith formation activities that inspire and engage young people.
Build positive relationships with young people, youth leaders, parishes, schools and community groups.
Provide practical ministry support to the Encounter Youth Project and its teams.
Support and develop youth leaders through formation, coaching, mentoring and resources.
Collaborate with parishes and schools to strengthen youth engagement and ministry opportunities.
Develop and share resources and tools to support sustainable local youth ministry.
Promote opportunities for young people to participate in Catholic faith and community initiatives.
